About Iversen Design Studio

Like many young girls, I was taken with the allure of fashion. Seeing his 11-year-old so enamored, my father, a photographer with the San Francisco Chronicle, would bring home runway collection photos he collected from patient co-workers. Soon the walls of my bedroom were covered, and I was dreaming of how I would improve the collections – shorten this, lengthen that, use more turquoise, perhaps. As my doodling filled sketchbooks, I discovered I enjoyed the art process as much as the fashion itself. Drawing became painting with oils and dresses became landscapes and soon much of my free time was taken up with art classes and wandering through museums. I fondly recall spending many an afternoon at the Palace of Fine Arts (San Francisco) seeking inspiration from the great impressionists and expressionists – Seurat, Schiele, Monet and Kirchner among my favorites. While my love of painting grew, my interest in the world of fashion never waned – print design seemed a natural choice, and it’s been my passion for the past 15 years.
